About The Artist

Lee Caufield was born and raised in Vernon in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia and is now based in the Lower Mainland.
From an early age she was drawing the birds and animals of her rural upbringing and has continued to pursue her artwork throughout her life. Caufield is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the recipient of numerous awards. Her paintings hang in collections in Canada, the USA and China.
Text and script frequently appear in Caufield's work, this in part a nod to her interests and pursuits in calligraphy and writing. Her short story A Heart in Hiding, based upon the real life murder of a Vernon paperboy in the early 1960's, was awarded a prestigious Okanagan Short Fiction award.
